Quiksilver Teams Up With the Surfrider Foundation
Quiksilver boardshorts have been around for decades, constantly moving in new directions in design and function. Recently Quiksilver has started teaming up with organizations like Surfrider Foundation to create eco-friendly Quiksilver boardshorts that give back to the environment.
Purchase the Quiksilver Slightly Choppy’s and Quiksilver will donate a percentage of the proceeds to the Surfrider Foundation, which helps protect our oceans and coastlines. It’s nice to be able to buy new products and know you are helping the environment rather than hurting it.
The Quiksilver Slightly Choppy boardshorts are made of 100% eco-friendly organic cotton, and feature a patchwork design of various prints, one of them including the Surfrider Foundation logo. They have a neoprene fly with Velcro and string to tie up. There is a small pocket on the right leg with a key loop and Velcro button-down flap.
After surfing in them for several months, I can point out a few things. The material seems very stiff and almost rough, but surprisingly they are very comfortable. They do not rash your legs like many boardshorts, and they fit very nicely.
Not everything is perfect though. The colors fade really fast, seeming to get lighter from week to week. But if color isn’t as big an issue as comfort and function, then these are a good pair of Quiksilver boardshorts to own. Quiksilver is now coming out with many more boardshort lines that feature products made from eco-friendly organic materials.
very interesting, but nothing sensible
